Trip itinerary

Day 1:

Private airport transfer. Hotel check-in. Intro to the program and welcome dinner at one of the city’s favorite social-impact restaurants.

Day 2:

City transformation tour in a vibrant community. Visit the Memory Museum, traveling along the city’s famed transformative metro and cable car system. Evening salsa show and urban dance class.

Skills developed: Green city design, sustainable transport

Day 3:

We visit the city’s hub of local and foreign business as students meet pioneering social entrepreneurs. Through interactive workshops and business visits, students learn first-hand how successful businesses work to a triple-bottom-line.

Skills developed: Social entrepreneurship, problem solving

Day 4:

Today students will join a local pioneer and discover how creating green spaces in urban settings can help foster a more inclusive and sustainable community. They will plant fruit and vegetables and learn the science behind making the perfect compost for different settings.

The most memorable aspect of today is that your students will be joined by local students, allowing for a unique cross-cultural learning environment.

Skills developed: Sustainable gardening, composting, circular economy

Day 5:

Visit a socially and environmentally responsible coffee company, learning the process from bean to cup. Afterwards, industry experts will lead you in the next step of your project development.

Evening entertainment playing the explosive sport – tejo.

Skills developed: Corporate sustainability, problem solving 

Day 6:

Day trip to Guatapé – a town that wows visitors with its quaint streets, decorated with colorful and beautiful artwork before students ascend an otherworldly rock with barely believable views.

Skills developed: Sustainable tourism

Day 7:

The group will travel to a traditional Antioquia town to meet a pioneering farmer who has a unique story behind his transformation to organic agriculture. During this hands-on visit, you will begin a journey into sustainability and especially circular economy.

Understand, and taste, the entire process of organic farming before we spilt the students into teams as they take part in our cooking challenge.

Skills developed: sustainable agriculture, circular economy

Day 8:

Transfer to a remarkable natural reserve, sitting in the tropical forest of Rio Claro. Eco walk along rivers, to waterfalls and among unique flora and fauna.

Students enjoy an introductory workshop to the reserve and a night walk under marble caves to discover a native bird species.

Day 9:

After waking up to the howl of monkeys, students zip through the jungle on a canopy experience before wading through the river to reach some stunning waterfalls.

Then, jump into a raft and enjoy an 8-mile journey down the transparent river, underneath marble caves on a memorable activity in the jungle.

Day 10

We take students to a local market to buy gifts for family and friends before a private transfer to Medellin’s international airport.
