Students will experience the day-to-day lives of indigenous peoples with an expert-led tour around the epic archaeological site of Teotihuacan. What is a Spanish Language trip?
A Spanish language trip is an immersive journey that allows students to practice their communication skills with native Spanish speakers. A good language trip will also connect students to the local, often vastly new, culture and give them opportunities to practice speaking in a variety of different contexts.
What is the duration of your Spanish language trips and how long does it take to plan?
Our trips run from 3 days to 14 in general. Of course we customize itineraries to the needs of individual schools. We take a leading role the planing process so it is quick and easy (usually a couple of weeks) to enable you to focus on the enjoyment of the trip!
What are the costs of these trips and what expenses are included?
Generally we include everything in our Spanish trips apart from the international flights and travel insurance which each student will need to acquire. Each destination carries a different price so please check the itineraries above.
What is the student-to-guide ratio and how many chaperones will be required?
Generally we include a 1-10 guide ratio but this may change slightly depending on the destination. We offer free places for chaperones and usually schools bring at least two teachers per trip.
Do Kagumu guides speak Spanish and English?
Yes, for our Spanish language trips, our tour leaders are bilingual so your students will be immersed in the language from day one until the last day.
What are the accommodation arrangements and are they suitable for students?
We offer a variety of accommodation types including hotels, hostels, eco lodges and guesthouses. For our Spanish language programs we also give students the opportunity of staying with a Spanish-speaking family in a homestay experience.
Where is best to learn Spanish?
You can learn Spanish in any Spanish-speaking country. Experiencing life in one of these destinations will provide opportunities for you to practice speaking and listening, especially with complete language immersion. Latin America boasts 20 Spanish-speaking countries.
Are there opportunities for students to interact with native Spanish speakers?
Yes – this is our strength. On all our Spanish language trips students will be interacting with locals every day. They will engage with local graffiti artists, chefs, tour leaders, conservationists, biologists and many more! We also include cultural exchange opportunities where your students will join a local school for a sustainability-focused activity.
Are there any language proficiency requirements for students to participate?
We work with absolute beginners to expert Spanish speaking students. We tailor the itinerary and activities to the language level of your students so everyone will enhance their skills.
How will you integrate the trip into my curriculum?
We tailor the activities to your curriculum. We also offer pre-trip virtual exchanges and experiences to help your students connect to the culture ahead of their trip.
Will you address medical or dietary considerations for individual students?
Yes, we address all these needs during the build up to the trip. We will send you simple forms to complete for the visiting group.
What kind of travel insurance is provided for students?
We offer health insurance on some of our Spanish language trips but not all. Please contact us to find out more. Students will need to acquire travel insurance and can do so with World Nomads.
How will the trip be evaluated for educational impact?
We will send you an educational impact report at the end of the trip to gauge the overall impact of the trip. We will also collaborate with you ahead of the trip to agree the learning outcomes.
