Students will delve into the history of Colombia with a graffiti tour in Bogotá and feel the beat of Caribbean vibe with Afro-Caribbean music show and classes in Cartagena.

Example Itinerary

Day 1: Arrivals & introduction (Bogotá)

Our friendly team will meet you at airport arrivals and take you in private transport to your hotel for check in. Dine like a local and then enjoy an introduction to the program.

Day 2: Grafiti tour & visit Monserrate (Bogotá)

Students learn about Colombia’s turbulent history with a memorable, interactive, and fun walking tour amongst the world-class street art in La Candelaria. Then enjoy a guided tour of Monseratte will give students an understanding of local culture, and traditions and include the reward of a panoramic city view at the top. Overnight in Bogota.

Day 3: NGO visit - promoting mental wellbeing (Bogotá)

We visit our partner NGO in Bogota that is working to support young men suffering from depression. Students enjoy an interactive workshop with experts in the field as well as taking part in an inspirational reflection session. Overnight in Bogota.

Day 4: Student intercambio on Mental Health (Bogotá)

Enjoy a memorable cross-cultural exchange with local students who are working and studying to promote good Mental Health in the city. Your students learn how an innovative eco campus can help foster good health and well-being among young people. After lunch, students explore a neighborhood that has received international awards for its sustainable design and focus on improving the living standards. Overnight in Bogota.

Day 5: Explore Colombia's Caribbean Gem (Cartagena)

Flight to Cartagena. There we explore the UNESCO-listed old town, discovering its formation after the Spanish conquest and passing through its modern-day influences from writers such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Students also witness the impact of mass tourism and the consequences of gentrification in the street-art emblazoned area of Getsemani. Overnight in Cartagena.

Day 6: NGO visit on Public Health (Cartagena)

Students learn about the long-term socioeconomic impact of teenage pregnancy in Cartagena and explore sustainable (and measurable) solutions delivered by this foundation. Students take part in an interactive workshop with this foundation, exploring ways to break the poverty cycle of young mothers. Overnight in Cartagena.

Day 7: Public Health in Afro-Caribbean community (Cartagena)

Today you will dance to the Caribbean rhythms of cumbia and explore the origins of champeta by joining our partners in the Batambora school in the fishing village of La Boquilla. We end the last afternoon of the program with a visit to a mud volcano into which students will submerge and cleanse themselves after a memorable adventure. Overnight in Cartagena.

Day 8: Departures (Cartagena)

Your dedicated Kagumu tour guides will accompany you to your transport terminal and wave you off at the gate.
