Example Itinerary

Day 1: Quito (Mainland Ecuador)

We meet you at Quito’s international airport, Mariscal Sucre International Airport, and take you via a private transfer to your hotel.

After time to check in, we tour the UNESCO-listed Old Town, its cobbled streets, amazon views, and fabulous Spanish colonial architecture. After, we delve into the world of sustainability with a trip to the Environmental Education Lab. We enjoy a traditional Andean dinner close to the hotel before an overnight stay.

Day 2: San Cristobal (Galapagos)

We set off early to the airport to catch our flight to San Cristobal island.

Once in the Galapagos we take a transfer to our hacienda accommodation where we will be staying for the next few days. After settling in we will have a tour of the island and get our first glimpse of the remarkable wildlife.

Day 3: San Cristobal (Galapagos)

Today we take part in a giant Galapagos tortoise protection program, learning how to feed these majestic animals and discovering the importance of their survival.

The students then tour the island with our local guides and enjoy dinner in the town center.

Day 4: San Cristobal (Galapagos)

We will join conservation experts to identify and destroy species that cause an imbalance in the fragile ecosystem and threaten biodiversity.

As part of this Galapagos educational tour, students then take part in a reforestation project, discovering essential techniques using GPS.

Day 5: San Cristobal (Galapagos)

For this activity day, students choose from a variety of day trips including a visit to Kicker Rock to swim and snorkel with sharks, turtles, and sea lions. Or explore smaller beach islands to discover blue-footed boobies and marine iguanas.

After a memorable day, students get some free time in the town before dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 6: Santa Cruz (Galapagos)

Today we head to Santa Cruz Island. After breakfast we jump abroad a speedboat to reach our new home. Here, we enjoy a local lunch in Puerto Ayora before enjoying some free time in this busy port that brims with restaurants, shops, and an array of sea lions and pelicans.

Evening meal in the port before an overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 7: Santa Cruz (Galapagos)

Today students will enjoy a hands-on tour around the world-class Charles Darwin Research Centre. Explore the center is working to preserve the animal species on the island and of course discover the story of lonesome George, the iconic tortoise.

Day 7: Isabela (Galapagos)

After breakfast, we board a fast boat to a new island – Isabela!

After lunch, we set off on foot to the wall of tears. This is close to the site of the former penal colony that existed on Isabela Island between 1944 and 1959. Prisoners were forced to construct The Wall for no other reason than to punish them with “hard labor”.

In places the wall is almost 20ft tall and 10ft wide, and it runs for over 300ft in length. It was constructed entirely by hand from the sharp lava rocks, and this cruelty is said to have resulted in many deaths.

Day 8: Isabela (Galapagos)

Today students enjoy arguably the finest snorkeling experience in the archipelago with a trip to Los Tuneles, a series of lava tunnels and bridges of lava, above and below the water.

Expect to see white tip reef sharks, manta rays, seahorses, penguins, sea turtles, sea lions, giant mantas, colorful fish and blue-footed boobies.

Day 9: Isabela (Galapagos)

Students experience the rugged beauty of Isabela with an enjoyable hike to Sierra Negra and Chico Volcanoes. Our expert guide will teach students about the geological feathers and history of the region. The hike is relatively easy but will last around 5 hours.

There are a few up and downs and students will even be able to enter the small volcano and feel the warm holes beneath.

Day 10: Santa Cruz (Galapagos)

After breakfast, we head back to Santa Cruz for our penultimate day of our Galapagos educational tour. Students can pick up some locally-made gifts for family and friends before enjoying our final activity – swimming and snorkeling in crystal-clear blue waters of Las Gritas.

Keep an eye out for observing various species of fish, sea lions, and other marine creatures.

Day 11: Quito (Mainland Ecuador)

We take a short flight back to mainland Ecuador and to the capital Quito. To cap our trip off we visit the middle of the world where students will take part in interactive activities that defy logic.

We end with a thought-provoking reflection activity in the midst of towering Andean mountains. Overnight in Quito.

Day 12: Quito (Mainland Ecuador)

We take the group to the airport in plenty of time for the flight home. Our guides will be with you up until the point you pass through the departure gates.
