Example Itinerary

Day 1: Quito (Mainland Ecuador)

We’ll meet you at Quito’s Mariscal Sucre International Airport and take you via a private transfer to your hotel.

After checking in, we’ll explore the UNESCO-listed old town, strolling through its cobbled streets, taking in Andean views, and admiring the fabulous Spanish colonial architecture. Afterward, we delve into the world of sustainability with a trip to the Environmental Education Lab. To end the day, we’ll have a traditional Andean dinner close to the hotel.

Day 2: San Cristobal (Galapagos)

We’ll set off early to the airport to catch our flight to San Cristobal island.

Once in the Galapagos, we’ll check in at our hacienda accommodation where we will be staying for the next few days. After settling in, we’ll tour the island and get our first glimpse of the remarkable wildlife.

Day 3: San Cristobal (Galapagos)

Today we’ll take part in a giant Galapagos tortoise protection program, learning how to care for these majestic animals and discovering the importance of their survival.

The students then tour the island with our local guides and enjoy dinner in the town center.

Day 4: San Cristobal (Galapagos)

We will join conservation experts to identify and eliminate species that cause an imbalance in the fragile ecosystem and threaten biodiversity.

As part of this Galapagos educational tour, students then take part in a reforestation project, discovering essential techniques using GPS.

Day 5: San Cristobal (Galapagos)

For this activity day, students can choose from a variety of day trips, such as visiting Kicker Rock to swim and snorkel with sharks, turtles, and sea lions, or exploring smaller beach islands to encounter blue-footed boobies and marine iguanas.

After a memorable day, students get some free time in the town before dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 6: Santa Cruz (Galapagos)

After breakfast, we’ll jump aboard a speedboat to reach our new home – the island of Santa Cruz. We’ll enjoy a local lunch and dinner in the busy port town of Puerto Ayora and enjoy some free time among many restaurants, shops, and an array of sea lions and pelicans.

Day 7: Santa Cruz (Galapagos)

Today students will enjoy a hands-on tour of the world-class Charles Darwin Research Station. They’ll find out how the center is working to preserve the animal species on the island and learn the story of Lonesome George, the iconic tortoise.

Day 7: Isabela (Galapagos)

After breakfast, we’ll board a fast boat to a new island – Isabela!

After lunch, we set off on foot to the Wall of Tears, located near the former penal colony that existed on Isabela between 1944 and 1959. Prisoners were forced to construct the wall for no other reason than punishment.

In some places, the wall stands almost 20ft tall, 10ft wide, and runs over 300ft in length. It was constructed entirely by hand from the sharp lava rocks, and this brutal work is said to have resulted in many deaths.

Day 8: Isabela (Galapagos)

Today students enjoy arguably the finest snorkeling experience in the archipelago with a trip to Los Tuneles, a series of lava tunnels and bridges above and below the water.

They can expect to see white-tip reef sharks, manta rays, seahorses, penguins, sea turtles, sea lions, giant mantas, colorful fish, and blue-footed boobies.

Day 9: Isabela (Galapagos)

Students will experience the rugged beauty of Isabela on an enjoyable hike to the Sierra Negra and Chico volcanoes. Our expert guide will teach them about the geological features and history of the region. The hike is relatively easy but lasts approximately 5 hours.

After a few ups and downs, students will be able to enter the small volcano and feel the warm holes beneath.

Day 10: Santa Cruz (Galapagos)

After breakfast, we’ll head back to Santa Cruz for the penultimate day of our Galapagos educational tour. Students can pick up some locally-made gifts for family and friends before enjoying our final activity – swimming and snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters of Las Grietas.

Students should keep an eye out for various species of fish, sea lion, and other marine creatures.

Day 11: Quito (Mainland Ecuador)

We’ll take a short flight back to mainland Ecuador and the capital city of Quito. To round off our trip, we’ll visit the equator line where students take part in some interactive activities that defy logic.

We’ll end with a thought-provoking reflection activity amid towering Andean mountains.

Day 12: Quito (Mainland Ecuador)

We’ll take the group to the airport in plenty of time for their flight home. Our guides will be with you up until the point you pass through the departure gates.
