Example Itinerary

Day 1: Arrivals San Jose

Our expert guides will meet you at San Jose’s airport and accompany you on a private transfer to your hotel, or straight to La Fortuna, depending on your flight times. You’ll enjoy a traditional dinner and introduction to the program.

Day 2: Animal rescue center

Leave at 9am to the town of La Fortuna (2.5hrs). We visit a local rescue center that seeks to reintegrate its patients into the natural ecosystem. Animals helped by the shelter include monkeys, sloths, parrots, iguanas and many more.

Day 3: Hike & indigenous cultural immersion

Hike of around 1.5-2 hours before enjoying a morning of cultural immersion with the Maleku indigenous community. In the evening, the group enjoys an invigorating dip in the natural hot springs of Arenal volcano. 

Day 4: Forestry workshop & hot springs

Today students join a local conservation project that is reforesting parts of La Fortuna and helping to protect the local sloth population. After some free time in La Fortuna, students head to the remarkable volcano of Arenal to dip in the natural hot springs.

Day 5: Monteverde & chocolate, coffee tasting

The Monteverde Cloud Forest region is a mesmerizing and enchanting destination nestled high in the misty mountains of Costa Rica. This cultural experience tour takes place in a local family ́s farm where you will have the opportunity to visitthe coffee and sugar cane plantations and our cocoa greenhouse.

Day 6: Zip line & bridge jump

After breakfast, students will begin the day’s activities with a zip line circuit which extends through canyons, going from one mountain to another, and between the treetops. There are 7 cables with different lengths and heights for students to enjoy!

Day 7: Departures

We transfer students to the international airport in San Jose in plenty of time for their flight home.
